Introduce yourself here!

Hey, this is Eric from SBC.

I'm interested in joining this RP, but this is the first time I've ever joined one and I have no clue in the world what to do, how it works, or anything!

EDIT, 6 months later as CFO:

New members and current members, please note this bit of information from the payment system:
Quote
Current Arrow members will receive a $250 bonus for each active member recruited to Arrow Transportation RP. Bonuses will be deposited in to the recruiter's checkbook after two weekends have passed since the new member becoming active, during which the new member must stay active. New members should mention who (if anyone) recruited them when they first introduce themselves.

Hi Eric! Glad to have you!
Basically this is a text-based RP. You start out by picking your bus in the "Apply for a Job Here" thread. You can also apply to have an office position, or mechanic. I recomend you start out as a driver, see how stuff works, and then apply for another job if you want.
So once you pick your bus you can start "driving" you route. Eventually we will offer the fleet for download with the game Rigs of Rods, but that won't be for awhile. Right now you post what happens on your route, communicate to other drivers/base through the CB radio etc.
It sounds confusing, and maybe a little boring, but trust me, once you get the hang of it it is pretty fun, and is as realistic as you make it be.
So, welcome! If you still are confused, feel free to post here, or ask one of the existing members.

Sam.

To pick a bus, look in this thread.

Not to influence your decision, but we have a 2004 Thomas Ef #10402...
(As you can see, the fleet is almost entirely transits. This is because California buses are mainly transits.)

Okay. Shool doesn't start again until January, so you can sign up to participate in the ski resort shuttle, or just hang out until then.

What do I need to do on a day-by-day basis? I have to make stuff up that happens with my bus, route, etc.? Where do I have to post on a daily basis?

Right now where on winter break so it's going to be a little slow.

Yes you make stuff up on your route (the CB radio area is a great example of the things that happen on routes). I have not had anything eventful happen on my routes as of yet.

Every week that you drive you do need to fill out a pre-trip form which can be found under your driving record.

Over this break I would just get familiar with everything (reading topics) to see how it works and what not.......

If you have specific questions I would be more than happy to help. Until schools starts again I would just observe how things work and then you should be ready young grasshopper.

Like I said, if you have questions I'd be more than happy to help, just ask!
