Since the chassis is from GM, wouldnt that warranty be the standard 3 year/36k mile one?

Well yes, but it's a 2007 model year, which means it was probably made in 2006, maybe even late 2005, so it could be out of even that warranty. :-\

At the time we got it, that was not in effect, and that does not apply to fleet vehicles, which the US BUS is.
