No Start - Alternator, Starter, Wiring

Problem: After returning from my P.M. route, I shut the bus off to fuel up for tomorrow's run and it now refuses to start. No cranking sounds/turning over sounds at all, no headlights, no horn, etc.

Well.. the batteries seem okay, however the alternator and the starter are both testing negative.

There was some sort of short in the electrical system that fried the starter, the alternator, and burned up one of the wires leading to the start itself. I'll be picking up the new starter and alternator after my PM routes today. It's right along the way so I'm just gonna use 10901. (I pass the place on my way back)

Starter: $119.00

Alternator: 140 AMP - $134.00

I already have wire here that I can use to replace the one that burnt up. Some of the fuses will also have to be replaced.

Sorry for the delay,  I had inspections to deal with.

I got the alternator and new starter put in, and replaced the burnt wire but it's still shorting out somewhere. It'll be a little bit longer, but I know you like that spare so you'll be just fine. ;)

I'm gonna have to go through the wiring on this bus, because it's shorting out someplace.

Okay.. I'm gonna head to the back and look in the engine bay and I want you to turn the key when I say so. I need to see if I see smoke or sparks coming from anywhere.

  Hears Detroit starter then Kodie yell: "son of a b*tch!, that wires not supposed to do that!"
  Sparks shoot out of 19001's engine bay.
  Runs out with phone/fire extinguisher, ready to call fire department so they can hit P101 again put out any possible fires.

I've finally found the stubborn wire that was causing the trouble. It was rubbing on the engine because the plastic housing for the wire had **** and allowed it to come free. The heat melted the wire casing and caused problems. 19001 is back in service!

Wash 18501 real good inside and out and leave it in front of shop bay A for me please.
