Great, we can sell P041 and buy those radios that Kodie was so desperate for! :P

Not yet...I sent aan email to Bryce when we took his bus out of service, and said he had a week...we'll give him till next Saturday.
But even if/when we sell the bus, the budget doesn't account for profit...

Who created the budget, anyway? :P

Selling a bus can, IMO, go towards our budget funds. The budgeted amount is covered through contracts with the schools and charters, but if we sell a bus, that gives us extra money to work with.

But I just thought of something more practical: fixing 19202 (see the other topic).

SHHHH! No fixing!

As for the selling of that bus, does the sale money go to the main arrow budget, or shop, or split between both?

Depends where it's needed.... It would be something special, such as the radios, fixing 19202, a lounge TV, etc. Or maybe even extending the pavement around the wash bays.

Oh how I love it. Pour my shop money into fixing it, and get nothing in return!  :o

I say paving some more parking space would be the better than fixing an old bus..

Then 19202's funds can come out of the rainy day fund, and the lot can be extended with the P041 fund.

Rainy day fund is to be used at the end of the fiscal year should something happen. It's not for fixing buses.

I never said that it would be used at the end of the fiscal year, or what it was for.

Right but when creating a budget, that's what it's for. You should know this.

The rainy day fund -- which purpose has never been defined by the CFO of Arrow, but is about to be -- is to be used to cover large expenses not covered within the budget. If you were to go over budget in the shop, you would be granted a reasonable part of the rainy day fund to compensate. If a pipe burst in the office building and the floor was covered in water and needed to be replaced, the rainy day fund would be used. If there were a lawsuit against Arrow Transportation, the rainy day fund would be used. This grants you assurance that if you spend all the money for a drive shaft, then you will still have money for repairs at the end of the year if you go over budget. And if the rainy day fund is squeezed dry, then I'm sure there will be extra funds from other budgets. If we're facing bankruptcy, we can take out a loan, and pay it back after the next budget is formed. I have the money for the drive shaft covered. Don't worry about it. :)
