Summer Maintenance
« on: April 24, 2009, 09:18:11 pm »
With summer quickly approaching, each bus will need to undergo prep work for next school year. The list of to do's is quite long, so spares will be assigned for 2-3 days at a time while all of the work is completed. My goal is to have our buses look and run the best of any district or contractor in CA.

Here is a run down of exactly what will be done if need be:

- Inspection
- Full Chassis wash
- Fluids topped off/ changed
- Oil Change
- Brake pad check/ replacement
- Replace faded lights (clearance lights)
- Defog headlights (Sometimes they get cloudy)
- Touch up paint, bumpers, rub rails, etc.
- Update registration
- Stock First Aid kits
- Tighten mirrors
- Clean, touch up luggage bay paint
- Patch/ replace ripped seats
- Replace rusty/ faded stop signs
- Remove all tires to check for damage to inner tire wall
- Repaint rusty seat legs
- Scrub floors
- Install crank case ventilation system (in the process)
- Remove and replace rusty floor trim.

- After this all bus will recieve a thorough scrub, wax and shine. If you mess it up I will harm you  :)

These are just a few of the many things that will be looked at over the summer.

Personal Buses:

If you want this work done to your personal bus you will be required to pay a full inspection fee + $40, and whatever parts are needed. Fortunately most of our P buses are new enough that they won't need any work.

This is more for myself.. just to organize things.

Eric... is there anything on 10402 that you noticed is rusting on the interior, such as floor trim, seat legs?

Everything inside of 10402 is fine, except for some rust around the first 3 seat posts.

I'd like to sign up P016 for summer maintenance. The seat posts could all use re-painting, as well as the trim around the wheel wells.

I'd like to sign P104 up for an oil change.... the operator's manual says to change it at the 500 mile mark (break in period) and i'd also like the window tracks lubricated, along with the defroster fans. Also, Kodie, can you possibly move some of the position of the switches? I will speak with you in the chatbox about it!

This is how i'd like P104s switches relocated: http://schoolbuscentral.com/gallery/updates/dec05/bb/images/18f.jpg Please move my PA microphone to there also. Thanks

Thanks,

Stretch

P016 is about 75% done. The seat posts were painted and the wheels were taken care of also. Last major thing is to install the mounting hardware for the duct work.

To all drivers:

The buses used for summer routes need the following:
- All glass cleaned inside and out
- Floors swept
- Floors scrubbed clean
- Seat belts straightened
- Fuel topped off
- All vents/ windows closed

Mike and I put many long hours into making these buses nice, please respect our time and return them how you found them. Should there be an issue, let us know.

If anything needs some more paint or anything do not hesitate to file a request.
